Monster Feelings Books began as a simple collection of notes on Jennie’s iPhone—ideas scribbled down during quiet moments, inspired by everyday experiences and her own journey as a mother and teacher.
The first story, Miss Ann Gree, slowly began to take shape as Jennie imagined a fiery little monster who felt angry... a lot. The concept resonated deeply with her passion for social-emotional learning, and she knew she had the foundation for something special.

As she began to share her vision with colleagues and friends, the dream of turning the idea into a published children’s book started to feel real. The next challenge was finding the right illustrator—someone who could bring her characters to life just as she saw them in her mind. After a few trial-and-error attempts, the perfect match came from an unexpected place: one of her own 5th grade students. His sketch of Miss Ann Gree captured the exact personality and emotion Jennie had envisioned, and their collaboration became the heart of the debut book and the beginning of a much bigger series to come.

Jennie was born and raised in New Jersey, where she still lives with her family. In addition to writing her debut children’s book series, she has been teaching 5th grade math and science for over 20 years. Her first book, Miss Ann Gree, was inspired by her daughter, Aubrianna, and is the first title in the Monster Feelings Books series—a

Jennie’s passion for both storytelling and education shines through in everything she creates. Whether she’s in the classroom or crafting new characters, her goal is always the same: to help children grow socially, emotionally, and academically in fun and meaningful ways.

Ruhaan is a talented middle school student from New Jersey who brings his passion for drawing and creativity to life through the Monster Feelings Book Series. His illustrations capture the heart and emotion behind each character, adding depth and charm to every page.

In addition to illustrating this children’s book alongside Jennie, Ruhaan was also a student in her 5th grade class in 2023, where he proudly served as his elementary school’s Student Council Class President. Known for his leadership, dedication, and artistic skill, Ruhaan continues to excel academically as a high-achieving honor student.

His ability to combine imagination with discipline at such a young age makes him a remarkable collaborator—and a rising star to watch.
